Any other Task Queue APIs?

Question

I am curious if the usual practice outside of the GAE platform can postpone tasks for background workers via webcams.

It’s especially useful for me to speed up front-end webapps by delegating any lengthy process to background tasks.

I would like to learn about open source software that allows you to implement the TaskQueue API, preferably with webcams, if anyone has experience in this area.

I agree - this is a very useful model. It has not yet become widespread, but is gaining popularity as an easy way to postpone work.
