Difference between WebLogic and WebSphere?

I cannot find the actual differences between the two Java EE servers.

From my past experience, I learned the following:

  • WL is developing faster than WAS.
  • WL is more convenient than WAS. To simply deploy the application to WAS, we need to go deep and it is difficult to find if u is new to it.
  • I found out that on some WAS machine it is slower than WL.
  • I found out that Classloading is easier to understand and effective in WL than WAS

First of all, these are my experiences, but not factual facts. Am I correct in all my conclusions? I want to know more in this regard. Please clear my doubts. If possible, indicate all the advantages and disadvantages of the Java EE server.

I need to find more differences regarding the pros and cons, performance, security, usability and class loading.

I agree Weblogic is currently and in my opinion above Websphere, but there is no evidence of this.

Java EE technology is advancing, and the answer really depends on the architecture of your application and the features / weaknesses that you (potentially) use on each server, and the global environment (whether it is used for use in a complete IBM information system with a bunch of IBM products such as MQ , WAS Portal, etc.)

, Weblogic, :

  • - JAXWS WL (, , Jboss), WAS
  • EJB 2.1 Websphere: EJB- WL ( Jboss btw), WAS , EJB ..
  • WL ( WAS)
  • Websphere ( :-))

, Java doc, , ( , J2EE).

Make sure you compare equivalent products with Web Logic or other vendors.

WAS is not user friendly where WL is. WAS is slower than WL. I worked for both manufacturing companies, and WL is much better than WAS in many ways.
