What is a good way to copy files from a PC to a Windows Mobile device?

I have a C # application running on a server and it needs to copy files to multiple Windows Mobile 5.0 devices. These devices connect to the network directly through Ethernet-enabled stands (therefore, they are not connected to the PC via ActiveSync).

What are my options for this? I know that RAPI can do this, but I'm not sure if it can copy something directly over a network like this. In addition, I know that RAPI uses the ActiveSync DLL and therefore requires the installation of ActiveSync, and we would rather avoid this if possible.

Is WMI possible? Is it possible to use normal File.IOif we can somehow get the IP address of each device? Code samples or general knowledge would be most welcome.

The inputs / outputs of a normal file will not work. The devices do not have OS components for file sharing, so you cannot "browse" them over the network, like on a PC.

RAPI uses ActiveSync, so you do not need to install only AS, the devices must also be actively connected, and ActiveSync only supports one connection to the device at a time, so it will not work for what you want.
