We can add system icons to the flex application

I can add system icons (.doc, .ppt, etc.) to my flex application without directly inserting them into the application.

I assume that you are trying to create an AIR application and want to use system icons for .doc, .ppt files, etc.

This will not work on Linux, as far as I can remember ...

You can, but for this you need to know the path in which the icons are installed, and your application must have access to it.
