Failed to install mysql on cygwin, curses / termcap library not found

Failed to install mysql on cygwin.

When to do it. / configure, the following error occurred:

checking termcap function library ... configure: error: curses / termcap library not found

any idea?

I ran into the same problem.

Run the cygwin setup ( http://www.cygwin.com/setup.exe ) and then in the libncurses dialog search. Select the appropriate one and install it. Also find libtermcap and install it.

That should fix it.

In my case, I also got the same error in the library, but the reason was different. I installed cygwin and libraries, but on the same laptop I already have Perl for Windows installed. Through PATH, the gcc compiler was found in

c:\perl\... instead  of in c:\cygwin\...

It is hushed up. The quick and dirty solution was to rename c:\perlwhile keeping the PATH the same.
