Do PHP platforms enhance the development process?

I recently started working in a web firm as a freelancer, taking my PHP programming hobby to a career level, and since then I have been amazed at the amount of work that needs to be done in a short time.

The problem is not to do what is set, but to be able to do everything as fast as I need. I never used PHP frameworks, but if I started using it, would this speed up the whole development process? If so, how much?

And which framework is best for my purpose?

If that matters, then what I'm doing is basically creating a CMS end and linking it to the front end functionality for small business client sites.

Once you know the framework well (i.e., you should not waste time learning how to use it), yes, this helps speed up both:

  • Development process
  • Service process

What for? Well, probably at least because:

  • It contains recommendations
    • No need to think (too much) about what is happening, or how to do X or Y
    • These recommendations are known to everyone who knows the scope, which means that you can hire a guy who knows the scope and it will take less time to be effective in your project.
  • It provides many useful libraries.
    • which means less time spent reinventing the wheel.
