XSLT nowrap and XHTML 1.0 Strict

we have XSLT for converting XML to HTML in XHTML 1.0 Strict

in XSLT

<td colspan="3" nowrap="nowrap">

HTML output will be

<td colspan="3" nowrap="nowrap">

however, this will cause the XHTML 1.0 Strict check to fail. how XSLT can be generated in

<td colspan="3" nowrap>

nowrap without = "nowrap" will be even more erroneous in XHTML. XHTML 1.0 Strict does not have the nowrap attribute. Use CSS for layout instead.
