I am new to coding and would like to know a little more about frameworks. How does the framework help you code and what exactly? For example, Zend for php.

The foundation for applications is the foundation. This means the following:

  • If you create an application in a framework, you cannot separate it from it: there is a dependence on this structure.
  • The framework provides everything you need to run your application. It handles everything that is required by typical applications. (Think: (internal) storage, output, and data entry)

A structure is basically a group of libraries that force you to follow a particular way of coding your application. As with most php frameworks, you need to follow the mvc design pattern. Zend is not really a framework because it allows you to use whatever you want and use only the parts you want.

Hope this helps :)
