UI fonts and languages

I am developing a multilingual web application that has a nice look. I thought using the CSS 3 font-face property to make it even more enjoyable, but I'm not sure if this is a good idea. According to some people I spoke with, different languages need different fonts. This means that there is no single font that can display characters of all languages, since the same character can look different in different languages.

For example, according to Wikipedia , Unicode's UIC4 encoding looks different in Korean and Japanese.

So my question is: would it make sense to contain fonts in language packs or as part of my interface?

If you intend to use a multilingual language, use the langor attributes xml:langto correctly call the language of the text fragment or page in the browser and allow the browser to select the correct font. This should work much more reliable than trying to make it out of CSS.
