How to create a package for a .deb file

Question

Hi, I have successfully created .rpm packages for Fedora FC10 linux. I can create my application's .rpm file, similarly, I want to create my application's .deb file. I want a phased approach to creating a debian packager. Please help me create a .deb file for my application.

I am using ubuntu linux to create a package

If you have a .rpm file, you can convert this rpm file to a .deb file. Take a look at the following link.
