We are committed to moving from sourcesafe to a more robust version control system for our .Net applications. We are also looking for script / automatic deployment.
I am a .Net developer (web and winforms). However, most of our development staff is an RPG for IBM iSeries, and developers use Aldon LMI to manage and deploy the source. Our manager would prefer to stick with Aldon, so all of our products are on the same system. However, I have no experience with Aldon products on the .Net side. I used TFS and Subversion with Tortoise a little, but not enough to recommend one or the other, especially compared to the Aldon product.
Does anyone have any experience with Aldon products? If yes, please consider? Also, besides the obvious things that version control systems use, are there things that I should avoid or should you have? I am open to any system.
A bit of background, I'm the only .Net developer in our company, but I allowed the operations to perform the deployments. I want to be able to support simultaneous validation if we hire a new developer.
