ORM for PHP - performance issue

Do you think you should use ORM like Propel or Doctrine? For a new PHP project. Are there any performance issues?

When you start a new project, you can quickly and quickly get objects in and out of the database without worrying about how you do it. You can also very quickly switch DBMSs from SQLite to the local Dev machine, to MySQL on your test or intermediate servers. When part of the performance starts, your application has matured, the models are slightly fixed, and the program log is started. Extending models to use SQL instead of ORM is more convenient then, because the project structure no longer changes (so fast).

I offer a teaching.
