BlackBerry - perform some actions before sending email / sms

Question

I was not able to find it on Google, so I thought that maybe Sonya knew here whether this is possible, and if so, how to implement it =) well in advance for any answers!

I am trying to overwrite this method so that I can perform some actions before sending sms / mail, and then just allow it to perform its usual actions.
