Athena Common Build for Eclipse Goal and Benefits

What would be the purpose and / or benefits of implementing Athena builds for a private Eclipse plug-in project? (using private Hudson setup)

It seems that no search results ever answer this question, and I really would like to know.

Thanks in advance for your understanding!

Athena General Assembly [1] is a very good cover around the PDE assembly mechanism. Therefore, if you want to use PDEBuild, then you can use Athena to help remove most of the "pain" that is associated with using PDEBuild. I personally used the Athena general assembly to create my eclipse plugins and individual features on the update site. You can see my releng project, which contains the general Athena build here [2].
