Source control for computers without open ports

Question

We are a group of 3 people with computers that are on a network that is very closed and we don’t have access to a bunch of ports. It would be helpful to have a solution in which we can also access the code from home.

Is there version control software that works well in this situation?

I use Mercurial with Dropbox to have access to my source control both at home and at work. Are you allowed to install the software on the computers you use? If so, it might work for you too.

I would recommend using Subversion via HTTPS. Given that HTTPS will encrypt data packets, almost all network equipment, firewalls, etc. By default, port 443 (HTTPS) is left open because there is no way to look inside encrypted packets and block unwanted traffic.
