Random ASP.NET Slows

We observe occasional intermittent slowdowns in our ASP.NET application. Most pages take from 100 to 500 ms for rendering (depending on which modules are used on the page). Sometimes, however, perhaps 1 out of 100 queries, these numbers are more like 5000-10000ms. This is not a database problem - I checked for slow queries and is not related to page complexity - for example, a page that takes 100 ms is also likely to take 10,000 ms when it slows down. I do not think that the application also processes it - as a rule, they see this in the task manager. Could this be a GC? Any ideas? Typically, a w3wp application uses 800 MB-1 GB of non-volatile memory.

The best I can tell you is to attach a profiler (look for this site for a good .NET profiler, I personally use ANTS ) to identify bottlenecks. Without good profile data, all of our offers here would be mere speculations.

Does the Cache application generally use to store most of the static data? Even if the applet does not recycle, it is possible that some large objects in the cache have expired, and then the next hit, requiring the cache to replenish it again.

Have you tried to run the web application in session state mode in the process and see if there is a difference?
