Eclipse "find in project" took, as far as I can tell, blindingly stupid.
Let me illustrate. This is what I get when I run "find in project":
found in the project http://img.skitch.com/20100312-qgpi9jwyyb6qudc656j1j1tne3.png
And when I click to see what in this "closed" folder skinningI get ...
skinning
even more useless http://img.skitch.com/20100312-r7cjk9a9sjix3y2694361ytsd4.png
... etc.
So, how can I make this more useful ? Am I doing something wrong?
Ideally, I would like to see something like the strings ackcommonly used by the tool:
ack
useful! http://img.skitch.com/20100312-gixej3w617qpibrm79c8w78j1f.png
Clicking on the Expand All icon (tiled squares with a + on the front panel) may help, but I don't think you can hide the top-level items.
How about using a small triangular menu in the search results and selecting “View as List”?
