What is the only best reference to the topic of signals (POSIX)?

Signals seem to be one of those areas that should be conceptually simple and easy to explain, but I have never come across a single source that is comprehensive, clearly written, and relevant. Part of this, apparently, is associated with a historical breakthrough, many exceptions to the rules, different programming standards, confusion flows, real-time inserts, etc.

What is your best written, most complete source of unix / linux / posix signals? Web sites, books, stone tablets, whatever, are acceptable.
