Quantum PSO and charged PSO (PSO = particle swarm optimizer)

Question

I need to implement a PSO (namely, charged and quantum PSOs). My questions are as follows:

• What speed update strategy does each PSO use (synchronous or asynchronous particle update)?
• What topology of the social network does each PSO use (von Neumann, ring, star, wheel, pyramid, four clusters).
