Does anyone know what was / is being used as a DBMS for the infamous NSA call database?

Another question about SO suddenly made me wonder what the largest database in the world is (and how much it can be). A quick Google search showed the following: NSA Call Database created by the US National Security Agency. Presumably this database contains more than 1.9 trillion records containing data related to telephone calls placed through AT & T and Verizon back in 2001.

Does anyone know which database system was used for this database? 1.9 trillion It seems to me much more records than even your typical large-scale commercial databases. But maybe I'm wrong. I also did not investigate this extensively in any case, therefore, perhaps the statement that the NSA call database is the largest in the world is incorrect.

However, I am interested in knowing which DBMSs, if any, can intelligently handle these many entries.
