How can I check / profile my PHP / MYSQL news site so that I can compare it later with the transcoded version of django / postgres?

I'm looking for some type of profiling utility that I could use, where I can compare between two different settings with some sort of coefficient of consistency. I would appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction.
