What should the itemcount property have in SQL Server

If the property itemcountdoesn't exactly match the number of rows indexed, is this a problem? Is there a numerical way that I can guarantee that I have a full full-text index?

update: the property is fulltextcatalogproperty('database','itemcount')not equal to the number of rows for indexed tables. This is a few thousand. Does this mean that the index is missing information, or do you expect the value of the element to not exactly match?

In SQL Server 2008, ItemCountwill not count entries that the index FULLTEXTdoes not index ( NULL, empty or those that contain only word delimiters)

Also, when your table is heavily modified, it ItemCountmay lag and not immediately reflect the changes in the table.

This is a statistical property that serves only as a hint, not as an exact value.
