.Ico file change in EXE -.NET winforms

I have an exe that is like Image1.ico as its icon, and I went to explorer-> Application tab-> Selected Icon and Manifest properties and selected the new Image2.ico image icon.

After building and starting the EXE, the EXE loads with the old image (Image1.ico).

Any inputs on this?

Thanks in advance, Karthick

Typically, Windows uses the first icon that it finds in the file. Therefore, if Image1.ico is still in your resources, you need to delete it.

Windows also has an icon cache, and it can show you the icon from the cache, not the new one from your exe. If you change the name of the .exe file, will the old icon or the new one be displayed?
