How to access JasperReports Server database via API?

Can we access the JasperReports Server database through our API?

And does this allow us to report on runtime?

If so, how can we do this?

You can access JasperServer resources using its SOAP API ... the java client can be found in jasperserver-common-ws- [VERSION] .jar ...
 examples of use are also in the doc folder jasperserver ... The document you need needed - "Jasper Server Web Services Guide"
