Backup Remote SQL Server 2005

How do I back up data from a remote MS-SQL Server database to a local computer?

I have access to Management Studio 2008.

You specify the target for the backup file to the UNC path on your local machine. When you specify Backup, you must specify Desination. This destination can be either a file name locally installed on the instance of SQL Server (for example E:\Backups\Database.BAK), or a UNC path, for example \\YOURMACHINENAME\SHAREDFOLDERONYOURMACHINE\FILENAME.BAK.

, ,

BACKUP DATABASE mydb TO DISK = 'd:\whatever\location\mydb.bak'

If drive d: is local to SQL Server, otherwise use the format

BACKUP DATABASE mydb TO DISK = '\\ mylocalcomputer \ share \ mydb.bak'

to backup to your computer.
