WxPython user control

Question

I want to add a new function to the wxPython class. I also want existing functionality to be plus new functionality. What is the best way to achieve the goal? Would it be nice if someone could describe the procedure step by step?

I am new to wxPython and writing my first application in wxPython.

Also, what is the difference between an integrated control and full owner control.

Welcome to wxPython! If you want to create something ordinary, you will want to subclass the basic control that you want to change. Often this will be wx.Panel if you combine several things, but can also be a switch, checkbox, etc. Check out http://wiki.wxpython.org/CreatingCustomControls , which explains this in detail with examples.
