Emacs: Is it possible to view images in a catalog? In windows?

I read about auto-image file mode, which I think displays image files as images in emacs. I would like to use it. This document states that it has been replaced by image mode.

I can not work.

Any help?

I made it work by downloading packages for PNG and JPG from GnuWin32 and placing the necessary DLLs in the \ emacs \ bin directory:

From LibPng:
  libpng-config
  libpng12-config
  libpng12.dll
  libpng3.dll
  zlib1.dll

From jpeg:
  jpeg62.dll

Now it works. Here is a screenshot of the SO editing issue displayed in emacs.
