SQL Server Data Date?

I am creating a table for an application that handles scheduling and deals with recurring events. I need to indicate which days and times of the event can be repeated (for example, every Monday and Wednesday at 13:00). Is there a data type that can only process days of the week without entering specific dates, or do I need to create another table containing the days of the week and specify them using FK? This is clearly undesirable because it will make handling events that begin before midnight and end after midnight more complicated.
