Pros and cons of leading combinations of HTML and CSS skins

Question

I am trying to create a theme right now for the Spree e-commerce platform for Rails. Since Spree is already a fairly large project, he chose a specific set of templates and skinning frameworks: Less and YUI. But, starting from reading on Google, other skins seem to work faster / better using other frameworks. Therefore, I wonder what the pros and cons of each of them are, so I can spend some time mastering one of them (preferably one that allows me faster).

• Less vs. Sass - for CSS
• Blueprint vs. YUI - for good CSS defaults and a good grid.
• HAML vs. HTML - for markup

Spree uses Less with YUI, while most blog posters choose Sass and Blueprint (which you can use with Compass to automate css compilation).

What are the pros and cons of Less / YUI or Blueprint / Sass?

I would just like to learn and become effective on one of them at once, so I do not need to divide the time between them. I do not want to use CSS without a border.
