Internet Based Musical and Sound Synthesis - Overview

My question is thrice

  • What interesting web examples have you seen to dynamically generate music by a user? Or based on samples with an interesting interface, through sound synthesis or similar methods. Example: http://acko.net/blog/javascript-audio-synthesis-with-html-5

  • Has there been any serious synthesis of Internet-based dynamic sound (for example, generating sine waves dynamically and similarly), or are there still technological boundaries for this?

  • What are your general thoughts on the dynamic generation of online music? Is any form of more involved generation still too CPU intensive? Use Flash, JavaScript or an audio tag. (Unfortunately, all my efforts were too intense for the processor, and not a very pleasant experience for the user.)

Gibber is the most impressive thing I've seen. It is a complete interactive sound synthesis environment reminiscent of SuperCollider, but also includes a decent editor (CodeMirror) and social features.
