Online Payment Options

I am writing an online music store (wow!). I wrote a basket in which the user can buy an individual track or a collection of tracks (an album or a playlist created by the user), and it works like a charm.

I also created a checkout button that redirects to a secure page (https) containing a credit card form, where users can buy online with their credit card.

Now this is my problem:

1) Which service provider should I go to provide a credit card? Keep in mind that in South Africa (my customer base) there is no PayPal.

2) Is my way of doing all this online shopping the perfect way? If not, what’s wrong with him or what should I do?

3) It must be compatible with Java, since I am developing it in Java.

Thank you, ton!

As a company that serves the SA market (as well as internationally), we deal with PayPal, WorldPay and EFT. Working with payments in SA is a royal pain. Most SA clients deal with EFT, CC online transactions, even though we process them, is clearly not the preferred option locally.

Mobile payments are unlikely to be useful here, as the network operator will drastically reduce costs for end users. However, all 3 operators have event billing interfaces, expecting to see less than 50% of the end-user costs in your hands after the operator and others receive their fragment.

A quick google appeared PayGate , which is designed for the South African market. I expect them to have some SOAP API. There are several docs APIs on your site with code samples (including one for Java).
