Advantage Database or SQL Server

Question

I have a client who is currently using the local Advantage database on her PC with the application. They are thinking of scaling their installation to have multiple applications working with ie / client-server database server.

Now they are considering the best database for this approach. They look at Advantage Database Server compared to SQL Server Express (at this stage, the application does not guarantee full SQL Server).

Obviously, SQL Server is a better-known product, perhaps with more support, but I was hoping that you could give me some opinions and thoughts that, in your opinion, the best product would be in terms of performance, stability, and support.

One point, although not directly relevant, is that the application is currently written in Delphi, and there may be a switch to C # to update it.
