Google Search Appliances and Microsoft Enterprise Search (FAST)

I am a .NET developer, and I have worked with various search providers, but the Google Search Appliance / Mini has always been the best fit when implementing enterprise search. I have not worked at Microsoft Enterprise Search yet, so I would like to hear how developers work on it.

These days, I get a lot of Microsoft's Enterprise Search sales promotion, telling me that FAST is really great. Does Microsoft have products such as the Google Mini (a cheaper, more limited API) and the Google Search Appliance (a costly enterprise with an API)?

If we take all the sales talk and look at these two products side by side, what are the benefits for developers and Microsoft Enterprise Search compared to Google Enterprise?

Update: I was looking for more information on this, and it seems that FAST really focuses more on unstructured data, where the Google Appliance is more suitable for searching web pages / intranets. It's true?

It is a little unfair to compare the two, as they segment different types of users.
