Boost.asio I / O extension for Linux

According to this question about the topic there is no asynchronous io file in asio nothing but Windows ...

So well, does anyone know of any already written extensions for asio that make an asynchronous io file on Linux?

Or does anyone know any examples on how to extend asio to support asynchronous io for {insert-whatever-here}?
