Android audio frequency range?

Android soundpool.play[documentation] [1] says: “Playback speed allows the application to change the playback speed (step) of sound. A value of 1.0 means playback at the original frequency. A value of 2.0 means play twice as fast, and a value of 0.5 means half speed playback. "

However, when I set the speed to 1.49f, I hear silence. 1.485f displays correctly (this is an ogg file). Is this specific to my phone, is it incorrectly documented, or am I stupid in some other way?

I'm kind of new, but I'm sure it should be 0.5f, 1f or 1.5f and no other values. This does not apply to any particular ogg file. I know that it changes pitch during playback in the soundmanager. Since no one else answered, I decided that my answer might be better than no answer.
