Given the actual data in db, how will I choose between RDBMS and DocDBMS?

I am not looking for a holy war here, I am thinking about distributed architecture and would like to contribute to How to choose between RDBMS and DocDBMS ?

We cannot deny the power that can be achieved using RDBMS (for example, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS Sql Server, etc.), they have been under development for more than 30 years, and many problems have been reviewed and examined.

We also need to keep in mind that the NoSQL / DocDBMS movement (MongoDB, CouchDB, etc.) has its own strengths, especially in how the data is stored, connected, and replicated.

When considering only DATA and its structure, when will I use db based on the document and when will I use relational db?

I do not want to discuss the merits of one decision against another in relation to someone’s favorite language or platform. Please note that the discussion points to data types (e.g. financial transactions, blogs, CMS pages, shopping carts, etc.) and their structure (relationships between data points, i.e. a blog post related to its comments).

RDBMS is just a good round circle that lasts 30 years and shows no signs of marking. Things like NoSQL, etc., are a “special case” for certain purposes.
