How can I install android sdk setup revision 4 and run the emulator

I downloaded "android-sdk_r04-windows", after unpacking I tried to install "SDK Setup.exe", but I got the following error and nothing was installed.

If you receive checksum failures, the download did not complete successfully. Try downloading again. If you need, use the download manager. Firefox has several download manager extensions that are good.

I had the same problem with wrong checksums. I disabled my antivirus (AVG) and they booted successfully.

AVG Antivirus . :

You probably don't need to disable all of these features, but only Resident Shield failed to disable.

The easiest way to install the SDK for Android is to use the Eclipse ADT plugin.

Thus, you only need to:

  • Download and unpack SDK
  • Install the ADT Eclipse Plugin
  • ADT point for SDK location ( Window -> Preferences -> Android -> SDK location)
  • Use Window -> Android SDK and AVD Managerto install selected versions of the SDK.
