WCF hosting in the .NET compact framework

I would like to host the service on a WinCE device. A WinCE host is a host that can be accessed (control and data collection) by several clients (PC or WinCE) via a serial port, TCP, USB, etc. I considered using protocol buffers for serialization on a wire. It would be ideal to use WCF or delete, but as far as I can see, they are not implemented on the Compact Framework. Anyone has ideas on how this can be achieved.

CF 3.5 has some WCF, but in the current mode, the full-scale framework has hooked WCFs to support on-the-fly serializer replacement. I know some users who use CF, but pass Streamalong (as far as WCF is concerned) and handle protobuf-net (de) serialization outside of WCF (a byte[]may work similarly, but they chose Stream- I cannot remember why there might be problems with base-64?). Will this help?

This is a clear cry, I admit, but you can consider hosting the REST web service from the device.
