Question

Does anyone know any PHP library for reading various email services? Like hotmail, gmail, yahoo?

It would be great if the library could parse the email and mark it as read ...

The solution might be to use Zend_Mailthe Zend Framework component - if it is like several other components, you could use it outside the box without having too much work to do to “extract” it.

I used the Imap / POP3 PHP library along with fragments from the Horde project to parse attachments. Horde provides some useful classes for handling MIME encodings.

I downloaded the entire Horde stack and used separate classes in my application.
