Export data to iWork Numbers

Has anyone tried to export data to Numbers in iWork? I want to generate a spreadsheet programmatically, but I don't have much success.

I tried to unzip the .numbers document and parse the XML to see if I can interpret it, but it's too complicated. In addition, I could not find the DTDs used by Apple.

Judging by the fact that out there is an almost impossible task. Does anyone have any ideas?

I have several Applescript scripts in my Numbers spreadsheet application. It works quite well, although it is not very fast, and you do not have much control over formatting and cannot insert things like charts.

If they are a pure number on one sheet, export them to a CSV delimited or tab delimited text file.
