How to automatically launch the necessary services and applications?

I am writing my first erlang application and I want to do what they should do in the erlang ecosystem. My application depends on the ssl, inets and log4erl services that are already running, and now I run them manually in the erlang shell. After that, I launch the application manager, which launches the other parts. The question is, how do I organize these things so that there is no need to run ssl, inets and log4erl manually?
