Looking for tutorials on writing PHP modules?

Has anyone got some resources on how to write PHP modules (> 5.2.x) in C / C ++? In addition, it would be advisable to code such modules to increase efficiency, possibly sorting large heaps of search results, etc.?

Zend has a series of tutorials on writing additions . There is also a good article on the PHP Extension written by Wez Furlong.
