Grails datepicker

I am looking for a calendar component for my Grails application. I know that Grails already has one g:datePicker, but it is a bit primitive and not very visually appealing.

I looked at the tab-in-tag page and into the Grails plugin portals and there is a wide range of options, I will be very grateful if anyone could recommend it in particular. My requirements:

  • Must allow the choice of date and time, for example. 9AM March 24, 2010.
  • It should be easily tied to the property of a domain object of type Date and display any validation errors in the user interface
  • I would prefer something based on jQuery, but I'm open to alternatives.

I'm really looking for something that will allow the user to easily select a specific point in time, rather than a full-featured calendar, such as jQuery Calendar .

Cheers, Don

You have two popular options: GrailsUI has a date picker (see the very end of the page), as well as RichUI . They use YUI, but RichUI uses a few more libraries for things like timeline, calendar view, etc. I have used GrailsUI so far, and the only thing to pay attention to is to use the correct body style class in my "grails-app \ views \ layouts \ main.gsp":

<body class="yui-skin-sam">

If you want something based on jQuery, you can check out JQueryUI ( http://jqueryui.com/datepicker/ ). It can be tricky if you want it to be, but it is usually very simple and therefore I think that is right for you. Grails plugin already exists for it
