A good way to start development for iPhone, given some Cocoa experience on Mac

I have experience programming Objective-C / Cocoa on Mac and I would like to start development for iPhone / iPad with UIKit. (I just paid $ 99 for the mother ship.) What would be a good start? I would like to receive your suggestions / recommendations. More specific,

  • Which book should I buy? Is there a good book comparing AppKit / UIKit differences?
  • What are the most common errors in UIKit for an AppKit programmer?

Please note that I am not asking what would be the best for all the newbies in the Objective-C / Cocoa world. Maybe I should start humbly and start from scratch, but the general question of how to start programming for the iPhone will be duplicated here in SO: p

I would get the iPhone Development Start from Dave Mark and Jeff LaMarche . It may be a little slower for you, but you can always skip it.

The CS193P course on iTunesU gives you a good overview ( iTunes Link ). The first pair may be a little slow for you if you came with Cocoa & Objective-C, but the rest should make you work.
