How to start using the PHP framework?

It may sound like a really stupid question, but I'm a noob, so sorry, please. But how to use a PHP framework like Zend or CakePHP. I know that they are code libraries that can be used to speed up the development process, but how to implement it in the first place. I downloaded the Zend framework, but what should I do with it. All the documentation I saw assumes that someone knows how to start using it, but this is not like an installer that you can install and start using. So what to do with this Zend framework card? Am I "connecting" it to my IDE or to something ??? I am using Dreamweaver.

There are two solutions:

• If what you like best opens up, go it yourself and in a couple of days you will find a way :-)
• Or, if you just want to be able to develop, spending less time opening the framework, you can follow the training course.

For the Zend Framework, you can take a look at the Survive The Deep End! : it is not finished, but there are 10 chapters that should have already begun.

You can also take a look at the official Quickstart : it does not delve into the details much, but is much shorter and probably an interesting read too; -)

The best you can get if you don't already have this, you need a wamp or mamp server for testing. You can download wampserver for windows and mampserver for mac. From there, you can install the infrastructure locally and integrate with it.
