Show icon overlay without restarting

Question

Please help me, how can I display icon overlays without restarting explorer.exe?

The problem Im stuck here is that I should always close explorer.exe in taskbarmanager and reopen it. I want it not necessary to restart such a shell. Anyway in C ++?

You have a shortcut to a batch file that kills explorer.exe and restarts it. Reboot it twice, once for the desktop, and then for the explorer window itself (if necessary (or just press Windows + E)).
