Android database reduction

I tested that Android can go newVersion< oldVersionto SQLiteOpenHelper.onUpgrade(), i.e. he wants the application to downgrade his database.

I do not want to handle this case, although I would like to somehow notify the user that there is a newer version of my application (which, apparently, it was installed earlier), and the one that it should use.

Any ideas what would be the best way to achieve this? Toast? AlertDialog(but in what context)?

In fact, you can call this method a "new" version smaller than the "old" version, but when will this happen?

Unless you expect your users to manually reinstall your application by overwriting it with an earlier APK, there is no need to think about it.

We have several active branches of our application (for example, v1.x and v2.x), and we supply releases for testing. This means that the tester sometimes installs an older version over a new one.
