Android Background Image Size

I have an image that I want to post on the background of my work. For G1, I would use a 320x480 background, but with nexus 1 the resolution is almost twice as high. Should I just fit the large image and reduce the size of the smaller phone? I try to keep my package size as large as possible.

If it's a simple color or gradient, you can use the same drawing for all screen resolutions.

If this is more complex graphics, then you should create separate images for different screen resolutions (or densities) by placing them in the appropriate directories (for example, "drawable-nodpi", "drawable-hdpi", etc.).
