Horizontal scrolling in a bash window

Question

I used printf to output the column display of a text file.

However, the length I need will cause the columns to flow to the next row.

I was looking for a flag or workaround that will make the console window scroll and can only see the following:

set horizontal scroll mode On

This is directly under #! / Bin / bash, but cannot work

Is there another way?
