Our site uses the jQuery supermarket plugin for our menus ( http://users.tpg.com.au/j_birch/plugins/superfish/ ) and they work great in Firefox, IE6, IE7, Safari, Chrome, etc. ... and even in IE8 MOST installations. The problem is that in some IE8 installations, menus do not work (they highlight the mouse cursor, but do not appear in the menu).
It puzzled me. In addition to the complaint of several clients, I have one (Windows XP) machine that reproduces this problem. However, I also have another Win XP / IE8 machine that is not experiencing problems. I am used to dealing with JS / CSS problems between different browsers, but this problem between two machines on the same OS and browsers is a bit.
Oh, and just to further confuse the issue, the machine that reproduces the problem does not show errors, Javascript or otherwise (even when I switch to developer mode). So ... does anyone have any suggestions on what might happen?
As far as I know, none of my two “test” machines have any special plugins or anything that could cause a problem, they are the same in terms of everything that matters and there is no JS error, check the stack or something else. But this is not just a crazy problem, which is unique to my test machine, because, as I said, some customers also reported this.
Any help would be appreciated.
